About UsIn addition to public performances, many of the artists on the Cultural Affairs roster do school performances, master's classes for WSU students and community outreach. Every year hundreds of children come to Weber State University where they experience, first-hand, the power of art to transform and enhance our lives. The value of having children see live performances in a real theater on the WSU campus is immeasurable and provides them with access to a larger world.
This year students from the Ogden City School district will come to see the New York Chamber Soloists perform Poulenc's "Babar, the Little Elephant".
We will have a week of brown bag lunch presentations before the LA Theater Works bring "The Great Tennessee Monkey Trial" to the Browning Center on January 27. This year's Hurst Artist in Residence, choreographer Donald Byrd will be on campus giving master classes for our dance students and working on a year long project with choreography students. And Australian dancer and choreographer Ros Warby will also do residency work with our students.
